Hall of mirrors
This blog is a mixture of our travel adventures and our new family adventures.
The title comes from a dumb blonde high school girl on a tour with us in Versailles who asked this question in every single room of the Palace.
The picture was taken while on our Honeymoon in China, on the Xian river.

Steak 'n' Shake!
By far the most kid friendly restaurant we've been to yet. They have cute hats, bibs, crackers, hand wipes and CLEAN trays on their high chairs. Their food is cheap $2.29 for a grilled cheese sandwich and applesauce and Ares had a spectacular time. (He also kept the hat on for nearly the entire time.) A few weeks ago, he kept the hat on at B-dubs too!

Tug of War!
This was after a diaper change right before bed. He LOVES to tease the dog with his rope toy. Ballpark is much more gentle with the baby than he is when he plays tug of war with me or Adam!

"He had it coming..."
This weekend was beyond crazy! Ares is healthy once again, and it's GREAT! My mom and dad were the BEST for taking him SOOO MUCH this past week, and I am also grateful for Aunt Diane who watched him Saturday night (and gave him a breathing treatment).
I had never seen it on stage, but I saw the movie. Adam had never seen it ever before. We went downtown to the Playhouse Theater, and it was HILARIOUS! What a great time we had. Aunt Cindy, Mike, Grandma and Kassi were there as well. We really enjoyed ourselves. THANKS MOM!
Adam's Year End Event (Holiday Party) was Saturday night at a nice country club in Uniontown (a trek for us Northerners). Free top shelf bar. It was crazy. Too bad I had to drive. I had a single sea breeze w/ grey goose vodka. She counted to 15 while pouring the vodka, and to, like, TWO with the juice. It was crazy. We were the only ones who didn't get a hotel for the night, we figured we'd try and save the money and go somewhere this summer.
Sunday night my parents watched Ares and let us go out to dinner (PF Changs), AND gave us tickets to see

Tada!
Here's Ares performing a magic trick... Look! Now I'm cute! =)

I bought Ares an outfit to take pictures for his 1st Birthday party. It's a Dinosaur theme!

Today he did not want to be fed by a spoon. (OK, this is every day now.) So I let him eat his mac'n'cheese with his fingers. He loved it, and we just threw him in the tub when he was finished, where he got to play some more. Wow, life is tough for a 9 month old.

Ouchie!
This has been a pretty hell-ish week. Ares had some congestion in his lungs, and a very high fever for 3 days. He's currently on breathing treatments (which he hates when mom gives them, but doesn't mind so bad with dad and grandma). My mom has watched him for the past 3 days (which I am grateful for!) and took him back to the dr. again today. Now he has 2 ear aches. They were caught early, because he didn't have them on Monday when we went to the doctor. Over the past 3 nights, I have gotten about 7 hours of sleep total. Last night we got 3 hours in a row, and it was AMAZING! I guess this is Ares' way of getting back at me for being such a good sleeper when he was a young young baby.
I hate hearing him scream/whine/whimper in pain all night like he has been. I wish there was something I can do. On the plus side, while he's miserable with this terrible congestion, he's got 3 teeth coming in, so he's got all of the misery at once.

And he's off!
We haven't gotten too much snow lately. Thursday I worked a 1/2 day from home because of the dump we were supposed to get. We got about 4". On Friday I worked the entire day from home because we were supposed to get an additional 6-10", but we got maybe 2" more. It did rain at one point, so instead of us having about 32" of snow, we probably only have about 18" right now. Enough to take our little guy sledding.
I was going to pull him around my parents' yard, but once on the driveway, I realized that he could actually move down hill on his own, and it was waay less work than having to pull him through snow that is deeper than my knees =) I think he liked it!

My HUGE project that is FINISHED!!! =)
The snowfall outside is officially taller than my kid is. Will someone PLEASE stop shaking the snow globe? We've had enough. On the plus side, my drive in to work today was only 1.5 hours long, and the drive home was just under 2 hours. I can TOTALLY handle that this winter!
Here's one of my projects I made for my in-laws and my parents for this year. Adam's grandparents got a different one that includes both of their great-grandsons, but this was the project that I will NEVER do again....most likely.

No Birthday Gifts
All of these Christmas gifts, and he plays with the dog's collar.
(Oh, and this isn't even everything!)
I must admit, I spent less than $30 on him this year, so I blame Grandma, and Grandma, and Great Grandma, and Great Grandma, and Great Grandma and "G.G".
