Hall of mirrors

This blog is a mixture of our travel adventures and our new family adventures.
The title comes from a dumb blonde high school girl on a tour with us in Versailles who asked this question in every single room of the Palace.
The picture was taken while on our Honeymoon in China, on the Xian river.

Hosting a Jamberry Party 101

Sooooo you wanna host a party!  Or maybe you're just curious about what I do at a party?  And what you'll get? And why you'd even want to consider it?  Well, let's start with the different types of parties you can have!

  • The typical IN HOME party! That's where you invite friends and family to your lovely home, make yummy treats, mix up some cocktails, and I bring my bag o'stuff and entertain your guests for you.  I give you free stuff.  We play a bunch of games and  I give them free stuff for winning.  They buy and help you earn more free stuff.   I keep your party open for a week after your event so you can guilt all those people who gave you excuses for missing the free food, drinks, and nail samples into placing an order, too.
  • ONLINE  I set up a Facebook event and you invite at least 50 of your FB friends.  More if you got 'em.  I spend 7-10 days entertaining your friends.  I tell them all about Jamberry.  I play trivia and other games for prizes.  I ask them questions, find them nail designs they like, post a bazillion and a half pictures, and keep them interested by participation posts.  For showing up and posting every day you get free stuff!  Your friends order -- and you get more free stuff!  Without having to make any treats or adult beverages (unless you want to *wink*.)

  •  Catalog/Basket Party:  I give you samples, materials, order forms, and catalogs in a basket/box/colorful eye-catching container (if you're local) or you add to a pretty basket if you're not and you take it around to friends, family, co-workers, and people who owe you favors and money.  You show them the catalog, or help them apply a sample, and then ask them nicely to order.  Or you use the materials at a sleepover, birthday, or other event at which you really don't want me to come and do the small talk-games-demo spiel.  In any case....I give you free stuff, and you get more free stuff when people order.  Who doesn't like free stuff?!?

So, how easy is it to get free stuff?  Well, *most*  parties sell a package deal and a Buy 3 Get 1 Free- right there, is $100 with two customers.  That's a free nail wrap for you.  Got 5 people ordering, well, you're close to $200  check out the rewards below!

  • Cool party ideas:
    • Mani's and Mimosa's
    • Mani's and Margaritas (usually can be done in Mexican Restaurants too!)
    • Sleepovers
    • Bachelorette/Wedding parties
    • Birthday
    • Mommy & Me
    • Regular Application demo party
  • Feel like you can take my pictures and posts and do your own party?  (I promise, I even give my scripts!)   Sign up as a consultant before your party!  I'll get you all of the information, spot you some samples and catalogs and you can be on your way within days.  Contact me (athenamjams@outlook.com) and I'll get you started.  Then, you earn money on your party AND all of the hostess rewards.  Easy!  Find out it's not for you?  No problem, there's no repercussions for only doing 1 party (or heck, zero parties if you just want everything in the consultant kit!)

Surgery! Luau!

Woohoo!  Half of my Thyroid is coming out on February 23rd!  I'm really excited to be losing my sexy neck bump (that is really, not even noticeable unless you press the side of my neck, but it's a fun nickname I have for it).   I've already come up with stories of how I got the cool cut/scar on my neck.  "Knife fight, you don't want to see the other guy" or "Got caught in an alley alone, had to fight to get out" or "the guillotine can't handle this sexy neck".  haha.

It's a pretty simple procedure, although, they need to keep me overnight for 23 hour observation.  Hopefully it doesn't hurt *too* much.  I won't lie, I'm hoping that I can sleep through the night, since my little ones haven't for a while.

Atlas  had a horrible cold/fever/conjunctivitis last week, and between Adam and I, we took 4 days off of work.   Fortunately, he was healthy when it came to our Luau party time, and BOTH boys played SO well all  night long.  I didn't even have to watch them as there were so many other kids around, I knew what the baby was doing all night long, and Ares and his friends are old enough to play by themselves in the basement now, which they did.   Another awesome party.

Due to a handful of families having the flu, we had just shy of 50 people at the party this time.  It was perfect, as we could have had 72 people, with the way the RSVP's were coming in.   Of course, no pictures.  =(

Mr . Independent

Atlas is a bruiser, he's a full stream ahead, lead with his head type of person.  So why was I surprised when he grabbed the step stool out of the bathroom to climb onto the couch to watch TV with his brother?   Hehehe.  So cute!

Another party that was written a while ago and didn't post.

Exasperating

December has been a pretty bad month.  Lots to write about but for now, I'm going to complain - about Atlas.  This child is exasperating.  He spends 95% of his time crying and whining for food, but when you feed him he throws it on the ground screaming.

He eats pop-tarts 100% of his meals, but only 30% of the week, the other days, he throws it on the ground.  I always swore that I wouldn't make my children their own meals, they eat what the family eats.  Atlas - damned child has me making FIVE dinners, because when he says he wants something, he takes it and slams it on the ground crying.   He loves hot dogs, macaroni and cheese, grilled cheese, spaghetti and pizza, but only when HE wants them.  He won't eat them when it's when we're eating it, or when I decide it's time to do the leftovers in the fridge.

He just cries and cries and cries.  I'm so utterly frustrated with this child.   I'm grateful we have him.  I love him, and I couldn't imagine my life without him.  I'd hate for anything to happen for him, but damn, he's frustrating.   In other news, while I complain about this, menial, stupid, ridiculous "problem" we're having with Atlas, my sorority sister in the next state over is laying her 9 year old to rest after an 18+ months with cancer- and she's choosing to "choose joy".  So aside from this short message to vent my frustrations (because otherwise I'm ready to throttle this child, and we don't hit in our household) I'm going to choose joy, and enjoy the snotty, slobbery, crying - because I can.
