Tough Mudder

Tough Mudder was this past weekend here in Cleveland.  Adam, my brother Justice and (follow this one) my son's friend's mother, Darah all ran the event.  It was in the 40's and low 50's, and rained most of the time.   We were all wet, but they were freezing shaking uncontrollably and they had been submerged in water MULTIPLE times.  Aside from scrapes, (lots of) bruising and a shoulder dislocated twice (Justice), they all made it through.  And I am SOO proud of them (and often question their sanity). 
**Update:  Adam has a nasty bout of Poison Ivy behind his knee.  It refuses to heal and now it's in his armpit.  Ewww.  We pray that Ares takes after his mommy and is for once, not allergic to something.**



Adam has just finished the race and is enjoying his Dos Equis as we walk to the buses to warm up.  He ran with this 'heat' blanket on.  He says that it only works if you have body heat first.  Oops.

It was crazy.  We were all soaked, but at least us spectators were dressed warmer.  The runners, were wet 10.5 miles of the 11.5 mile course.  Through barbed wire, log carries, monkey bars, rings, 20 foot leap into a lake, electrode shocks etc.    I do, however, get a mother of the year award, and this time it's not sarcasm, I seriously did something TOTALLY right!  Go. Me.

I brought Ares and Davis lots of food, and two trucks to play with.  I also had him in rain boots and a heavy rain jacket even though it wasn't supposed to rain until later in the afternoon.

Adam is in the pink skirt far right, almost across, he made it.  Justice had just dislocated his shoulder for the first time before this obstacle, so he didn't make it far. 

The yellow strings down had as many as 10,000 volts of electricity going through them,  If the person next to you got shocked, it traveled through the water and you felt it too.  Adam says you couldn't get through there fast enough
