Hall of mirrors

This blog is a mixture of our travel adventures and our new family adventures.
The title comes from a dumb blonde high school girl on a tour with us in Versailles who asked this question in every single room of the Palace.
The picture was taken while on our Honeymoon in China, on the Xian river.

Jeep Skool - 4th of July

Adam and I love to go camping, so this weekend, we decided it was a good time to introduce Ares to our outdoor love. (That, and Adam wanted to combine his love of camping with his love of his Jeep (dubbed the Khaki Abyss by me) and head off to Jeep Skool.) A pretty neat place, roughly 1500 acres of swamp, sand, mud, rocks and cliffs that are all access, for Jeeps to have fun in. Ares did so well, he took all of his naps in the tent when he was supposed to, slept great at night, didn't fuss at all (other than the normal diaper changing time).

Ares LOVED this weekend.

He was smiles all weekend.

Yum, lunch!

The Skool was very kid friendly. They had a kid olympics. Ares couldn't participate in most of it (like a tug of war or the sack race), but one genius game was to grab as many flags as you could carry. The big kids had to go far away, but the little kids still got some. Here's Ares looking for flags.

Daddy put a flag down his shirt. He didn't like it so much.
He didn't like the big flags, he kept to the small ones
(Thank goodness!)

Yes! I won!
Yum, a hug at the end of the olympics (held at 2pm on a 90 degree day).
