Hall of mirrors

This blog is a mixture of our travel adventures and our new family adventures.
The title comes from a dumb blonde high school girl on a tour with us in Versailles who asked this question in every single room of the Palace.
The picture was taken while on our Honeymoon in China, on the Xian river.

What a week!

Monday - we got the garage code to the house! We moved nearly all of the boxes that I had previously packed up. Ares stayed overnight at Auntie Cindy's house.
Tuesday - The entire garage was emptied of the old house and moved to the new one. Ares stayed overnight again at Auntie Cindy's house.
Wednesday - Aunt Diane / Uncle Terry brought dinner over, and helped me organize the new kitchen (Uncle Terry moved some outlets for us). Adam attempted to shovel a small part of our driveway. He got about 10', plus our walkway and was exhausted and sore. I guess 11" of snow, ice and a topping of snow will do that to you. Ares didn't go to bed until 9:30, but was pretty much amazing - playing by himself while we worked.
Thursday - the plan is to completely pack our old house and move as much furniture to the main floor as possible. Will actually attempt to make my own dinner (Mac'n'Cheese) tonight - from the blue box.
Friday - Day off! Move day!

My list of wish list stuff 'cuz i lose things

THIS LIST IS JUST FOR PERSONAL USE!!!
- do not buy anything off of this list, this list is for personal use because I keep writing things down, putting the paper somewhere else, and then finding it 2 days later where I move it to another unknown place. Today is the Day!

We get the keys tonight! I'm SOO excited! The unfortunate thing is that we're in for a "colossal' storm this week, and I'm not confident the move will go smoothly. Oh well, I may be out there at 7:30 AM Friday morning shoveling snow while Adam's picking up the new mattress for our spare bedroom!

-- UPDATE--

We moved ALL of the stuff I had boxed up, plus the bicycles and Ares' birthday present last night. It only took 4 trips and 2 SUV's. It was a busy evening, thanks to Auntie Cindy for picking up Ares.

This is our first meal in the new house. 'Cheeseburger peeaaasse'.

Closing

Tonight we get to sign MANY papers. 5:30 the stuff to give our house away, and at 6:15 the fun stuff to get our new house. We get the keys in 4 days! Whoohooo!!! I am beyond excited, I'm now at the point (already!) where I can barely sleep at night. I'm really happy we have one last walk through on the house on Saturday afternoon. I really cannot wait to let Ares run around it and see his 'new house' for the first time. He's past the 'new shoes' phase (because he's had the shoes for 2 weeks now) and now he runs around our current house screaming 'new house! New house!'.

I'm also excited that we have a lot of people able to help us move, as well as now I can have my son's birthday party at OUR house! (Last year we had it at my parents' house). Thank goodness that's still a couple of months away, as I don't have TIME to plan that right now. At least I know it's going to be themed with some sort of vehicles, as the kid is OBSESSED with cars/trucks/trains/planes/helicopters etc.

I got about 3,000 kisses from Ares last night. It was amazing. It's funny how he only has a handful of matchbox cars in our house because all of his toy are packed away, yet he's been as playful and happy as EVER!

I had my PE or annual review yesterday. I had only been at the company since the end of April, but I was VERY happy with my review and my increase. It beats (by FAR) the last couple of years at Progressive. Thank goodness. Life is great, I can honestly say (aside from the couple of lbs I could stand to lose) that I wouldn't change a thing. =) (Well, OK, I do wish we had enough money to have a second child soon, but I can handle waiting a few additional years - it'll probably take me that long to convince Adam we need another- HA!).

Cheese!

These past few months, he wants to see the picture as soon as we take it. Sometimes, he wants to see the picture before we even take it. That's why he was running around to the back of the camera. "I see - I see".

Wheee!

Ares will make a slide out of anything. This is our chair, a duffel bag full of Adam's LARP stuff, and a box. For the first few days, he'd only go down feet first, but today he decided to be more daring and went down head-first. He is his father's child.

Nothing new

Hi Grandma/Jim, I wish I had something new to post, but Adam has been sick for the past 9 or 10 days, Ares has been fighting off a cold (and a fever), the cold seems to be winning, although, the fever lasted only a couple of hours, and he's doing great there. My head feels like it's going to explode from sinus pressure, but I have been able to keep most of the sickness Adam has away. Haven't taken any new pics of Ares recently, but here's some pics from sunny FL. Adam was the only person older than 12 that went into the water. I just layed out at 9AM (about 78*) for a half hour to relax.
Thanks again for the letter, a proper thank you will come soon, once I can get my lovely family healthy and moving again. Love you! -- 11 days until we receive the keys, 15 until we move!!

Tug of War 2!

Ares is about a year older here, than he was the last time I posted his tug of war battle with Ballpark. This one was pretty tame, but they go under chairs, around boxes, over furniture... it's quite funny!
