My How He's Grown!

I know, two posts in a 12 hour time period, but after posting the last set of pictures, I can't get over how much he has grown! We're heading to Cinci this weekend for the 4th of July... YAY! =)

To Rice or Not to Rice?

I called our pediatrician because Ares has just been spitting up so much and arching his back and crying hysterically when he's eating that I didn't think it was normal. Turns out, he probably has reflux, so we were told to put him on rice cereal. We were told to put it into his bottle twice a day (AM/PM) and then spoon feed it to him once a day. (My aunt was the lucky one to try that). Well, I'm not sure if it's working, he sure does have some NASTY gas! Aunt Cindy doesn't seem to think Ares is ready for the spoon fed stuff, either that, or we just made it way too liquidy (following the box's instructions). We'll keep at it for another few days though!

Pittsburgh

Swim Party in Pittsburgh on Saturday of this weekend. Ares absolutely loved the water, and I really enjoyed the company. Unfortunately, we weren't at Cristal and Paul's long, because of the dinner that we had planned. We went back to the Beer Church downtown, and altogether there were 15 of us that went. I love their pizza, it's so yummy! Next time, we'll have to stay at the house longer, and swim longer. I didn't get any sun although it was hot out and VERY sunny. My skin just, like, reflects the sun and doesn't absorb any of it, so I'm still pale.

It's Summer Time!

Ares went to the pool for the first time every yesterday. His great-aunt-cindy took him to our development pool when she was watching him. I went out the day before to buy him some swim trunks, a swimming shirt (b/c he is not allowed to use sunscreen yet) and a hat (that all match of course). He's such a cutie! Look at his face, he's got chops! HA! Oh yeah, I can update the blog from work again! YAY!!!

Father's Day Weekend

Happy Father's Day to all the daddy's out there! Adam and I have had one heck of a weekend =) Leah and Mom came up on Thursday evening. My mother took them to pick up the baby at the day care (and used the opportunity to tour the center as well). I had PT that afternoon, but got home around 5:15 to see them. We went to El Campasino's for Mexican food. YUM!! (Update: I still have a slightly curved back, both up and down as well as left to right, but I am now walking pretty well. )
Adam and I both took off Friday, and we went to Eddy's bicycle shop to get fitted for bicycles and then drove all the way to Lakewood to eat at Melt. Aunt Diana and Uncle David met us up there as well. It was a lot of fun, and of course, the food was great! (I believe the term Leah used was "sinful".) After a few hours of relaxation at the house, we went up to Hudson Springs Park so Adam and Leah could play frisbee golf and take the dog for a walk. Mom and I sat back with the baby under a tree. JUST before Adam and Leah were done, a HUGE rainstorm attacked, but we managed to get to the car before anyone got too wet. Got some Chinese and ice cream for dinner. This was a rough night for the baby, he did NOT want to go to sleep. We made the mistake of keeping him up waaaay too late.
Saturday dad drove up from Cinic in the morning (and drove back that night =( bummer). My family was throwing Grandma Schmidt a 75th birthday party, that was a surprise, so we headed up to the park to attend, eat and play a little softball. Adam made Paella for dinner, it was pretty good and then dad had to leave, and the rest of us went for some more ice cream (LOVE the ice cream!!). This morning we're going to do breakfast at Big Boy's and then I think visit for a short time before everyone heads back home.

An awful thing!

I started work again today, and I noticed an awful thing... Progressive has blocked blog spot! This means I can no longer post while at work *gasp*! I have a horrible feeling that this may mean less posts. The nerve!! My first physical therapy is tomorrow, and I am very excited... I might be able to walk soon. Other than that and looking forward to the in-laws coming, not much is going on. Ares was hitting the hanging toys on his bouncer today when I went in to pick him up from day-care. Over and over and over again. What a cutie, he learns new things so fast!!

Oh... the Pain...

In hopes of getting into better shape, I decided to start pilates last Friday, then I played softball that night. I'm not sure which one did it, but I could not walk by the end of the day. Not only was I not able to walk, I couldn't crawl either. Adam took me to the urgent care Saturday morning, and the doctor said that I was "constipated", hahaha, I never knew constipation could cause one not to be able to walk. It was a very uneventful weekend for me, (Adam bike rode a lot), Sunday, we went to my parent's because he wanted to ride his bike, and I couldn't watch the baby (can't pick him up) and once I collapsed on the floor trying to walk, mom took me to the ER at her hospital. 8 hours later, we got home at 4:30 AM with the diagnosis of sciatica. He thought I had a blood clot, so I also had to get an ultra sound. Unfortunately, the two doses of vicodin four times a day didn't help any, so we called a spine specialist downtown at the Cleveland Clinic. She thinks I may have a ruptured disc, however is upset that the ER didn't admit me because I couldn't walk, or at least do an MRI. So today, Thursday, I am exited about getting an MRI done! Meanwhile, when Adam isn't biking, he's being the perfect father and husband doing EVERYTHING around the house. More to come later....

Flirt

We were told today that Ares is a Flirt. (Just like his father =) I guess he likes to "sweet talk" the ladies in his day-care room. He is the only guy around right now. He seems to have stolen everyone's hearts, but, can't you see why? Just look at that smile! The final comment on his daily report card: "He is such a good baby."



We have such a happy baby. I love this little baseball outfit. My mom bought him this on our little trip to Lodi's Carter outlet.


These two just LOVE each other.... already!









Now he's lookin' at Ballpark. He has been moving his head on his own really well.

Back to the Grind

Yesterday was my first day back at work. It wasn't so bad. Probably because there were a ton of people that kept coming up welcoming me back. Today is a bit more monotonous. I did very well with the daycare yesterday. I only called once, and it wasn't until about 3:30. Ares did very well there. He slept a lot of the time, only ate 3 times and gave LOTS of smiles. He had one of the biggest smiles I'd ever seen on his face when I walked in, and he didn't even see me, so he must be having a good time. I love the daily report card that they give us when we pick them up. Such a nice place he goes to.

Adam has me riding in the Tour de Cure this year. (But I'm only doing the 30 mile ride), so last night we started training. I did a little over 5 miles around our development (which is a little boring as we only have one street!). I'm pretty sure I will be able to pound out 30 miles, although I will be pretty sore.
